Spending time at The Keeper's Kitchen is such an incredible experience. The hosts are welcoming, friendly and treat their guests like family. The rooms were clean and updated. The meals were out of this world. The flavours were beautiful, it was one of the best meals I have had. It's easy to see that Michelle and Reidar cook with love and intention to please. The large table gathering ensured that as Michelle said, " we will come as strangers but leave as friends." This is not just a B and B, it is an experience to enjoy and savour. The stories shared, the music, and the food created a night we will remember for quite some time.

This B&B was a highlight of our trip to Newfoundland. The food was a magnificent culinary experience that I won't soon forget. Our hosts were warm, accommodating and created a relaxed and wonderfully indulgent atmosphere. The care and effort that they put into the preparation and presentation is top level.

The warm hospitality and creativity of Michelle and Reidar of the Keepers Kitchen offers a unique experience for anyone traveling in Newfoundland. They are fabulous hosts and the passion, love and care they gave shined through in every detail during our stay. The highlight was the cuisine they offered which was a true culinary experience as they both are amazing cooks. They share a love of food and joy in exploring new taste creations using fresh and local ingredients. All is homemade from the bread on the table, your morning danish, the jams etc. This is coupled with their story telling sharing their knowledge of the food they are serving and the history and beauty of the local area. This was topped off by the pure peacefulness we experienced while hanging out on the rivershed terrace, chatting with the other guests, while enjoying the stunning view.

I spent August 2025 in Newfoundland and my last 2 nights were with Michelle & Reidar at The Keeper’s Kitchen. I saved the best for last! They are superb hosts and the food and ambience are phenomenal. The landscape of St. Shotts and the Cape Pine area of the Irish Loop is unique and I so enjoyed the bit of exploring I did. Newfoundland - you are wonderful.

Best experience in Newfoundland! We drove the Irish Loop in Newfoundland and luckily stopped at Keepers Kitchen for 2 nights. Michelle and Reidar made us feel very welcome and made our stay very special. The accommodation is lovingly furnished, everything you need is there and it is super clean. We would definitely recommend the dinner to any guest, it is simply amazing. We dined so well and had a great wine accompaniment. Everything was homemade by Michelle and Reidar! We also had great conversations with them at all times. Michelle can tell you so much about the area and edible plants, it's unique. Reidar is very knowledgeable about wine and desserts. It was simply perfect and we were very sad when we had to leave. A definite must if you are traveling to Newfoundland!

What a great accommodation in the middle of nowhere! We stayed two night with Michelle and Reidar during our road trip across the island - unfortunately only two. During our arrival we were a little bit scared, because the landscape on the way got more and more barren. But we had such a great time at the keeper's kitchen. On the first evening, we had the chance that Michelle and Reidar joined us for dinner. What a great evening with a large homemade menu as well as great discussions and a lot of information about our hosts, the location and the area around. At the second day we were lucky and Michelle took the guitar for some songs after having a second gorgeous dinner menu. Maybe it sounds, like we were only there for food, but the individual self-made breakfast (changes everyday) and the lunch we could order were outstanding! We had such a great time at the keeper's kitchen with so much hospitality, stories and warmness! We are so thankful, that we could made this experience and got to know you both! Absolutely recommended - the keeper's kitchen as well as Michelle & Reidar!!

The Keepers Kitchen is a gem on the Irish Loop. We were told about this unique experience through a gift shop owner and were grateful for a seat at their table, not being overnight house guests. Michelle and Reidar are not only Michelin Star quality chefs (in our opinion) but wonderful hosts with stories and songs to accompany the evening experience. A highlight to our first trip to Newfoundland! We will forever be grateful for their hospitality and this memorable experience. Judy & Carl Shapiro
